Celebrating 9 more regional Murrow awards with my newsroom
Last year, after our news team was honored with eight Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, we never expected to beat our own record just one year later — but we did!
This year, I’m proud to brag that our team received nine awards in our region. That ties our newsroom for the most won by any television station this year.
Our nine wins include the Digital category, honoring an entry I composed about our coverage of the Brown University shooting and the manhunt that followed. It’s our second consecutive win in this category.
Digital also played an important role in the newsroom’s successful entry for the Overall Excellence award. Some of our vertical video work was included in the reel and we touted the breaking news coverage in the written entry.
Finally, my OTT Content Producer took home the innovation award for the second consecutive year.
A very proud day indeed!
