I’m shipping up to Boston

Nervous. Honored. Curious. Apprehensive. Excited.

There are a lot of verbs and adjectives that go along with an announcement like this one:

“I’m moving to Boston to become Digital Media Manager for WCVB.”

Now I’ll add one more word to my list: Relieved.

I’m still feeling all those other tumultuous emotions, but I feel relieved in this moment that the decision is finalized and announced. Now, I can focus on closing my chapter at KMGH and preparing for my fourth cross-country move.

There are also words floating around in my head that describe how I feel about leaving Colorado and all the friends I’ve made during more than four years here: Sentimental, nostalgic, proud.

Colorado’s stories, and the people who tell them, have helped to mold my personal story. As much as the news director who sent me a contract, I owe this next opportunity to my adventures along the Front Range.

So here’s one final adjective to sum it all up: Grateful.
