Excited to share lessons from ‘Reinvent’ experiment
Several years of coordination with a Northeastern University project aimed at reimagining local news content and presentations culminated in 2024 with the extremely successful addition of a new member to my digital content team. Her work was exemplary, but it was also part of a larger experiment.
Now, the time has come for the architects of the research to share their findings.
Northeastern University’s Reinventing Local TV News Project will hold a summit in March where project participants and industry experts will gather to share lessons and examine the findings.
I was asked to participate in a panel about developing a distinct digital news identity. My fellow panelists are digital news entrepreneurs, so I am excited to be in position to share unique lessons about our digital successes within a legacy newsroom.
While I’m honored to be asked to present I’m also truly excited to hear more results from the research that evaluated the fellows’ work from 2024. It will also be a great opportunity to swap ideas with the other exceptional news managers whose newsrooms also participated in the project.
