Live chat Re: COVID-19, breakthrough cases and Delta variant

This morning I had the pleasure of moderating a live chat with an infectious disease expert from Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Mark Siedner. He graciously answered questions from our newsroom and our live audience across Facebook, Twitter and our website.

I sought to produce the chat in light of our recent reporting about breakthrough cases, a cluster linked to a Cape Cod vacation spot and the delta variant. Our audience engagement added more layers to the conversation by asking for the doctor’s advice about for children in schools and the world’s progress toward herd immunity.

This chat was produced through Restream’s Live Studio. I used my DSLR and Blue Yeti microphone. The doctor connected through a webcam and wireless headphones.

With the success of this chat, I’m excited to try arranging more.
